Uniswap introduces Android app with built-in swap feature

The Uniswap Android application has successfully completed its beta testing phase and is now officially available to the public.

Uniswap Labs has unveiled a mobile wallet app for Android, featuring an integrated swap capability, now accessible on the Google Play store. Users can seamlessly execute swaps through the decentralized exchange (DEX) directly within the app, eliminating the necessity for a separate web browser extension, as highlighted by Uniswap Labs' Vice President of Design, Callil Capuozzo.

Although the app initially entered a closed beta phase on October 12, this marks its first release to the general public on the Android platform. The iOS version had been introduced in April of the same year.

Uniswap, currently boasting over $3 billion in crypto assets locked within its contracts, was developed by Uniswap Labs and operates under the governance of the Uniswap decentralized autonomous organization, UniswapDAO.

Furthermore, Uniswap has expanded language support to include English, Spanish, Japanese, Portuguese, French, and both traditional and simplified Chinese. Additionally, a new feature enables users to view the value of their cryptocurrency holdings in their local currency.

Capuozzo expressed that the Uniswap Android app was highly anticipated, and the team expects a surge in demand. Quoting the community's persistent inquiries, he stated, "Weโ€™ve been hearing from Twitter replies and our community, theyโ€™re always asking โ€˜When Android? When Android?โ€™โ€ He emphasized the team's encouragement for users to continue submitting suggestions for ongoing improvements.

Capuozzo mentioned that the team took user feedback into consideration, leading to adjustments such as relocating the app's wallet address display for enhanced user convenience.
